Carol Schulner
December 15, 1937 - October 8, 2025
Carol Ann Schulner, 87, of Eau Claire passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Heatherwood Senior Living in Eau Claire surrounded by her family.
Carol was born on December 15, 1937, in Rock Falls, the daughter of the late Vernon and Marie (Fedie) Norrish. She married John "Jack" Schulner on April 12, 1958, at St. Joseph's Church in Rock Falls. Carol was a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, playing cards, listening to country music, and visiting with family and friends. Her joyful and loving spirit will be missed but lives on through her family.
She worked at Big Shoe and then transitioned to her greatest role as a stay-at-home mom caring for her three children. Once the kids started high school, she worked at Payless Shoes. While working at the Honor Shop we heard endless stories about the "Girls" and how much fun they had. Carol's outgoing personality brought her to McDonald's where she served as a dining room hostess. She loved seeing the regulars and enjoyed good conversations.
As a member of St. Olaf Catholic Church, she was involved with various groups which included PCCW, multiple card clubs, and volunteering at the Community Table. She also enjoyed volunteering with Triniteam where she made some wonderful connections. Carol had a green thumb and loved putzing in her gardens: both flower and vegetable.
Carol is survived by her children, Roxann (Randy) Nedrelo and Gary (Sarah) Schulner; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Cory) Retzloff, Brent Nedrelo, Keith Nedrelo and Craig Nedrelo (Hanna Niccum); step grandchildren, Melissa Baier, Jordan Clark and Chelsey Kraemer; 4 great grandchildren; Jackson, Kennadie, Brystol and Brecken; 4 step great grandchildren, Hazen, Arlo, Raylee and Kasten; sister, Linda (Carl) Bennetsen; sisters-in-law, Betty Wolf and Evelyn Schulner; brother-in-law, Dewayne Gifford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Larry; grandson, Erik; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and infant brother and sister, Jimmy and Mary Ann.
Carol's family is incredibly grateful for the loving care she received while residing at Heatherwood Senior Living and thanks the staff (as well as those of Moments Hospice) for their dedicated and exceptional care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire with Father James Kurzynski officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Evergreen Funeral Home (4611 Commerce Valley Rd, Eau Claire, WI 54701) and also one hour prior to mass at church. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Evergreen Funeral Home is serving the family.
