BIG STONE GAP, VA - Mildred Ann "Millie" Carroll passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tn.
Millie retired after 40 years with Verizon. She was the most loving caring person many people ever met. She always thought of others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Dorthula Morris Carroll; brothers, James Michael Carroll, Gary Martin Carroll, Marvin Scott Carroll and sister, Donna Jean Carroll.
She is survived by brothers, Robert "Bob" Carroll (Treva Jewel), Vero Beach, Fla., Mark Carroll, Big Stone Gap, Melvin Carroll, Jonesborough, Tn.; sister, Cora Sue Leonard, Big Stone Gap, Sharon Manges, Newport News, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 1:00pm Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Avenue, E., Big Stone Gap, Va. The Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00pm with Dr. Bob Carroll officiating.
Burial will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

She was my neighbor and friend-we played together, went to school together, and were in the high school band!
I will always remember her fondly! I know her family will miss her so very much.
