NICKELSVILLE, VA - Mildred Ann Hicks, 76, Nickelsville, VA, passed away, Monday, August 7, 2023, at her daughter's residence.
Mildred was born in Nickelsville, VA, on June 19, 1947, to the late Caney Scott Dean, and Ruby Kate (Cassell) Dean.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen Louise Salyers (Richard), Castlewood, VA, Susan Elizabeth Long (Tim), Suffolk, VA, and Mary Ann Wagner (Denny), Kingsport, TN; very dear brother, Larry Dean, of the home; brothers, Lawrence "Buck" Dean (Edith), Nickelsville, VA, Ricky Dean, Mountain City, TN, and Darness Dean, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Penley (Josh), Hiltons, VA, Richie Salyers (Taylor), St. Paul, VA, Walker Long (Kurustun), Castlewood, VA, Tori Long (Jordan Womack), Los Angeles, CA, Haley Wagner, Kingsport, TN, Natalie Wagner, Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Jae Penley, Tate Salyers, and Aden Salyers; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Dean Family Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA, with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.
Richard Salyers, Tim Long, Denny Wagner, Richie Salyers, Walker Long, Josh Penley, Jordan Womack, and David Tolbert will serve as pallbearers.
