KINGSPORT - Mildred F. Taylor, 98, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 25, 2023, after a period of declining health.
Mildred was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School.
Mildred was a member of Kingsport Community Church.
She worked as an administrative assistant in the real estate business for many years with her late husband, Bill "Red" Taylor.
As a young woman, Mildred, was active in water sports.
She enjoyed singing, cooking, entertaining, sewing, crafts, traveling and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Bill "Red" Taylor; parents, Charlie and Hattie Fleenor; sister, Enid McNutt and son-in-law, Dan Huffman.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Christine Greer (John) and Yolanda Huffman; grandchildren, Megan Greer Hicks (Mark), Philip and Andrew Huffman; great grandchildren, Alex, Isaac, Oliver, Henry and Charlotte.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral and Cremation Services with Mark Stayton officiating. Music will be provided by Mark Stayton. Mrs. Taylor will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Oak Hill IV Mausoleum.
The family would like to extend sincere thank you to special friends and caregivers, Jane and Harry Faries, Laura and Richard Hight and the nurses and staff of Crown Cypress Assisted Living for their compassion and care.
