KINGSPORT - Mitzi Busick, age 79 of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord January 1, 2024. Mitzi was born in Tennessee on January 1, 1945 to the late Phonso and Dorothy Durham. She has resided in this area, after moving back from Texas in 2012. Mitzi was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mom, grandmother, sister and friend who loved to volunteer at the Kingsport Senior Center and through several of her church groups. She also enjoyed her pets and gardening in her spare time.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the offered prayers from friends and family all across the country.
Mitzi is survived by daughter, Mallissa Daniels and husband Steven; son, Richard Busick and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Olivia, Marek and Ian Daniels, and Kennedy and Jackson Busick; sister, Donna Parsons and husband Phil; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, on Friday, January 5th at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 10:00 am, January 6th in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joy Eastridge. Burial of her ashes will occur privately at a later time in East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
