Murvin Adams Obituary

Murvin "Wayne" Adams, 80, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at his residence.
Wayne was born to the late M. Thomas and Avia Adams. A life-long resident of Kingsport, TN, he retired from Holston Valley hospital where he was a surgical scrub technician for 40 years. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed music and collecting as his favorite hobbies. He was kind and generous and would have given someone the shirt off his back if he thought they needed it.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Adams, and his sister, Christine Overbay.
Wayne is survived by his sister, Shirley Hite; nephews, Brian Overbay and wife Rebecca, Michael Vicars and wife Jennifer; niece, Jennifer Ward and husband Jonathan; great-nephews, Zachary Overbay and fiancé Jillian, Dylan Overbay, Chase Vicars and wife Bailey, Isaac Vicars and wife Shenoah; great-nieces, Megan and Macey Ward; great-great niece, Blair Ann Vicars; and long-time devoted friend and caregiver Elizabeth Vanoy and grandson Steven.
Wayne had wonderful friends and neighbors in Marcella Mullins, Shelly Hopkins, and Debbie and Gary King, who were always there for him.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill cemetery on Saturday, December 7, at 11:00 am with Pastor Wayne Baker and Rev. Michael Vicars officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50.

Wayne and Brenda and their family are lovely people... Wayne's Daddy Marvin worked with my Daddy Paul Moseley and we visited when we were very small children...l met Brenda at HVCH and shared supper there with her on her wedding day...she had to work and called me to tell me they got married...lovely missed people
