Nina Jean Bolling Marshall

NORTON, VA - Nina Jean Bolling Marshall, 88, of Norton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Norton Community Hospital in Norton.

Nina was born in Blackwood, VA on July 13, 1936, to Kelton and Bertha Bolling. She was a 1956 graduate of Appalachia High School. She was a member of Ramsey Freewill Baptist Church. She worked as a hairdresser for several years at Ruth's Beauty Shop in Norton.

Nina was preceded in death by her granddaughter Elyn Jean Davis; a brother Frank Bolling; sisters Kaye Fritz, Irene Arwood, Corine Frazier, Joan Powers and Ada Ruth Bolling who died in infancy.

Survivors include her husband of almost 70 years Kenneth Marshall; daughters Myra (Sue) Marshall, Debra and Tom Davis, of Norton; a sister Peggy Ketron and her husband George of Kingsport, TN; brothers Larry Bolling and his wife Sandy of Wise, William (Bill) Bolling and his wife Cathy of Big Stone Gap, Harold Bolling and his wife Wanda of Norton and Thomas Bolling of Norton and a sister-in-law Sherry Bolling of Ohio. Several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton with the Rev. Steve Powers and Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Graveside committal services were held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Burial followed in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
