Norma Casteel Obituary

FT. BLACKMORE, VA - Norma Jean Casteel, 60, Ft. Blackmore, VA, passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Norma was born in Kingsport, TN, on February 11, 1963, to the late Orbin Mack Johnson and Sue Ella (Graham) Bright.

Along with her parents, her stepfather, Ross Bright; sister, Gail Johnson, and brothers, Allen Johnson, Ray Johnson, and Jack Johnson preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Danny Michael Casteel; daughter, Tracy Casteel; sister, Lois Hickman; stepbrother, Jack Bright (Mildred); special nephew, Nick Watts, and several other nieces and nephews; special fur grandchildren; Spot, Chunk, Betty, Sadie, Wylie, and Charlotte the Pig; and her Twin Springs School Family.

The family will receive friends from 11-1 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Rex McMurray and Rev. Gene Stallard officiating. Lisa McMurray will provide the music.

Burial will immediately follow the service at the Casteel Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA.

Zach Chapman, Luke Chapman, Brett Watts, Kevin Anderson, Jordan Mullins, and Larry Edwards will serve as pallbearers. Larry Dockery, Mason Cardwell, Colton Cardwell, Caleb Wallen, Jon Hardie, and Tony Shipley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
