Norman Collier Obituary

BIG STONE GAP, VA - Norman Lynn Collier, 80, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Lynn has been a resident of Heritage Hall Healthcare in Big Stone Gap since April, 2014. Lynn attended Dryden High School. He farmed for a majority of his life. He was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church.

Born January 20, 1943 to Elbert Carl and Sallie Pauline Collier in Big Stone Gap, Va. In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Bess and Doris Trent; and one brother, Elbert Carl Collier, Jr.

He is survived by two sisters, Betty Tackett and Patty and husband Charles "Pete" Ison of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Joyce Collier of Knoxville, Tn.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 12 noon – 1:00pm Thursday at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave., W., Big Stone Gap. The service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Rochelle Maxwell officiating.

Burial will at American Legion Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
