We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. II Corinthians 5:8
JOHNSON CITY - Owen "Larry" Woods, 76, Johnson City passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was the firstborn son of the late O.M. and Frankie Christian Woods of Carters Valley, Church Hill, TN. Larry graduated from Church Hill High School in 1965. He worked at Domtar Paper Company of Kingsport before retiring after 49 years and 10 months of service.
Larry loved the Lord Jesus with all of his heart. He was a real family man who enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends. He was well known for his positive outlook and attitude. Larry never met a stranger. His great sense of humor, kindness and caring were outstanding. He had an infectious smile and a twinkle in his eyes when he was up to something. Larry enjoyed Christian music and found great comfort in it. He also enjoyed sports immensely. He played sports in high school and later played on three softball teams for his church and workplace. Larry also coached his son's baseball team. He liked bowling and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing on many different courses.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Linda Woods; his children, Gary (Alison) Woods, Traci (Dennis) Osborne and Tricia (Zef) Dedvuka; his grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Aubree and Kristina; a brother, Gary (Brenda) Woods; a sister, Ginger (Danny) Cooter; a brother-in-law, Reverend William (Theresa) Whitehead; also several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will follow in the Church Hill Memory Gardens, 208 Lane Street, Church Hill, TN. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
