P.T. (Paul) Nottingham July 1, 2024
KINGSPORT - P.T. Nottingham, 96, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2024. Born and raised in Kingsport, all of his children live in Kingsport. He was a member of the 1947 state championship Dobyns-Bennett football team. P.T. is a retired Colonel from the U.S. Army and a Korean War Vet with over 30 years of service. He was a prominent businessman as one of the owners of Palace Vending. P.T. was a lifetime member of the Netherland Inn Association and a master furniture maker, having made over 100 pieces.
P.T. was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, June C. Nottingham; grandson, James Robert (Robbie) Nottingham; three sisters, Jean Isaacs, Virginia Peavler, and Mary Ayers; and one brother, John Oscar Nottingham.
P.T. is survived by his children, Paul Nottingham, III (Debbie), Jim Nottingham (Miranda), and Lela Miller (Mike); grandchildren, Kim Wilhite (Dave), Jennifer Harville (Josh), Alexa Doran (Joe), Sara Beth Burris (Brantley), Katy Nottingham (Drew), Chip Nottingham (Emmie), Brittany Miller Wingate (Keaton), Kelly Walker (Luke), and Michael Chase Miller; nearly a dozen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Greg DePriest officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Nottingham, Ron Isaacs, John Isaacs, Riley Burris, Tim Witt, and Curtis Dingus.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
