DUFFIELD, VA - Mrs. Pauline Jones Winegar, age 94 of Duffield, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday Dec 1, 2024.

Mrs. Winegar was born in Clinchport, VA on Oct 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Kelly Joseph Jones and the late Ethel Elizabeth Sloan Jones. Residing for most of her long life in Scott County, she attended Wolfe's Community Church. Those who knew her vouched that she made her Christian faith evident in her deeds, not just her words. She was happiest when gardening, farming, and spending time with her family. Well loved by all, she was known to her friends, neighbors, and family alike for her boundless energy, joyous spirit, kindness, generosity, and compassion.

She was preceded in death in 1989 by her loving husband of 38 years, Wilburn Lester Winegar as well as an infant son Stanley Winegar and her beloved daughter, Teresa Winegar Burton. She was also preceded in death by her younger siblings: Emogene Jones Bush, Hobart Lee Jones, Ivan Paul Jones, and Bobby Issac Jones.

Mrs. Winegar is survived by her sons, Norman Winegar and his wife Lyn of Woodstock, GA and Dennis Lester Winegar and his wife Brandy of Duffield, VA; grandchildren Hannah Winegar, Amanda Hensley, Brittany Rhoton, Matthew Winegar, Garrett Winegar, Wade Winegar, Megan Burton, and Chris Russell; a son-in-law, Fred Burton; three sisters-in-law, Mary Jones, Thelma Jones, and Rebecca Jones; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the Jones-Hammonds Cemetery at 4280 Anglers Way Rd., Duffield, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 10:50 am.
