Phillip Tidwell Obituary
From Shelley:
Phillip and I started dating, the summer before our senior year in high school, spending many hours talking on the phone. In a very short time, we both seemed to know that this was "meant to be". We were - and remained- very different people, but we married at age 20 and recently celebrated our 52nd anniversary. Although we expected to be together, always, there is no time remaining, following his eight-year battle with metastatic prostate cancer.
Our family members and I grieve the loss of a precious and much-loved husband / father / grandfather / brother.
Son, Aaron (wife, Kristin, daughter Caitlin), Burnsville, NC
Son, Joshua (son, Caleb), Kingsport
Son, Noah (wife Frankie, sons Bryson and Gavin), Kingsport.
Phillip's sister, Linda Allen, lives in New Port Richey, Florida.
During our 50 years in Kingsport, Phillip formed true and meaningful friendships with many, many people. They, too, grieve.
A memorial service for Phillip will take place at the Fountain of Life Bible Church, with Dr. Vic Young, on Wednesday, March 19, at 7:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the sanctuary, and after the service (approximately 7:30), in the fellowship hall. All are welcome to attend and dress is casual.

Went to Hillsboro High with Phillip. He was a wonderful person and never minded when I needed help with school work. He will be missed by many.

I have many memories of the Tidwell family from scouting and community baseball. Philip was a loving and involved father and husband. My sympathies, my love, and prayers will remain with Shelley and the boys for more than just today.
