MOUNT CARMEL - Phyllis Ann Arnott Monroe, age 83, of Mount Carmel, TN, left her earthly home on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Phyllis was born October 2, 1939, to Julian "Red" Arnott and Edith Clark Arnott. She grew up in the Ross Campground Community. She was a graduate of Church Hill High School. In earlier years, she was employed at Rental Uniform Company. She attended Ross Campground United Methodist Church. She loved sitting on her porch watching traffic and deer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Godrey Garfield "Curley" Monroe; and daughter, Debra Ann Monroe.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Arnott Seabolt and husband, Eddie; nephew, Jimmy Seabolt and wife, Kathy; sister-in-law, Phyllis Monroe Hawlsee; brother-in-law, Earl Monroe and wife, Ann; and numerous cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Ross Campground Cemetery with Bro. Scott Byerley officiating. All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 3:50 pm.
