GATE CITY, VA - Ralph Thomas Lane entered his heavenly home, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.Ralph was born in Scott County, VA, in the Purchase Ridge community on June 24, 1943, to the late Thomas Lane and Mattie Lousie Lane.
He worked for Steadman Construction for many years and was owner of Ralph Lane Painting for over 50 years. He was a self-made businessman and entrepreneur. He enjoyed raising his goats, sheep, and chickens. He always liked to make a trade, visit flea markets, and chat with his friends. His family was his pride as they were proud of him.
In addition to his parents, several brothers and sisters precede him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Thelma (Fields) Lane; daughters, Joretta (James) Fawbush, and Nelda (Larry) Dockery; brother, Ronald Lane; grandchildren, Matthew Fawbush and Nathan Dockery; special nephew, Barry Flanary; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-1p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jackie Frazier officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
