Died Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the V.A. Mountain Home Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was 86.
Preceding him in death were Mother and Father, Nell and J. Fred Miller of Clinchport/Gate City, VA, son, Stacy R. Miller, and an infant daughter, Jennifer Paige Miller, all of Gate City, VA.
Ty is survived by his wife, Bettye F. Miller, of the home, sister, Ramona S. Miller, Concord, NC, son Shane Miller, Gate City, granddaughters, Isabel Miller and Emma Miller, Gate City, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, the Home Canning Staff of Fairview Community Center, and multiple bereaved restauranteurs across the greater Southeast.
Mr. Miller chose to cremate with a private committal at a future date. A service of Gratitude and Celebration of Life will be held July 25, 2024, in accord with the family's wishes.
Thank you to everyone who reached out to his family and extended family with your support, words of encouragement, stories, kindness, and to the staff of the V.A. Medical Center, especially the Hospice for their love and care.

Jamie, I know you have been carrying a heavy load for a number of years now. I'm so sorry Ty passed away and I'm praying for your mom to be free from pain and suffering. You have been there for both Ty and your mom Bettye and God will bless you for being a wonderful daughter and caregiver. I love you and pray for you.
