KINGSPORT - Raymond H. "Bucky" Pierson, 82, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 9, 1943, in Scott County, VA to the late John A. and Monnie Lane Pierson.
Raymond was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was a committed Christian and member of State Line Baptist Church.
Raymond retired from Holliston Mills as a machine operator.
He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, doing carpenter work, and attending worship services in various local churches.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings, John Henry Pierson, Mildred Grills, Sue Walters, Pauline Free, Ruth Hyder, and Frankie Sharp.
Those left to cherish Raymond's memory are his wife, Brenda Pratt Pierson; daughters, Patricia Crawford (Johnny), Karen Linkous (Waymond), and Melissa Brandon (Bobby); grandchildren, Alex Linkous (Randi), Olivia Linkous (Jacob), Ryne Brandon, and Emily Brandon; two great-granddaughters; siblings, Mary Ann Gibson, Margaret Tipton, and David Pierson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 6, 2026, 4:00-5:45 pm at State Line Baptist Church.
Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Morelock officiating.
Graveside Service will be conducted Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may made to the State Line Baptist Church Ladies Cancer Outreach Ministry, 310 West Carters Valley Road, Kingsport, TN 37665.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Ballad Health Hospice for their compassionate care of "Mr. Bucky."
