Reba Jane McCray March 3, 1943- June 14, 2024
KINGSPORT - Reba Jane McCray, age 81 of Kingsport, Reba entered the glories of Heaven with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Reba was born on March 3, 1943, in Sullivan County, TN to Sherman Phillips and Nina Hartsock Phillips Greene. Reba graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 1961 and she worked 34 years as the front-end manager for "Little Store", "Giant Food", and "Food Lion" grocery stores. In 1961 Reba married her most cherished friend, Charles McCray, and after 62 years of a beautiful life together, he survives.
Reba loved life. From laughing and talking with friends, making crafts and porcelain dolls, to shopping and having serious conversations about food of any kind. Reba will be truly missed. Reba was a former member of Kingsport Baptist Temple.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Terry Phillips. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles G. McCray; daughter; Teresa Kingham and husband Neville; grand-pups, Bo and Hope; sister-in-law, Lorelie Phillips; two nieces, Lucretia Phillips, and Tera Snodgrass; and many other loving family members.
The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Comfort Keepers and Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Don Samples officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 am.

Charles I am sorry about the death of Reba. I know how difficult it is to lose a spouse. Art has been dead 3 years and it never gets easier. You are a friend Art cherished working together. You and Teresa are in my thoughts and prayers.
