Richard Chapman Obituary
January 29, 2025
KINGSPORT - Richard L. Chapman, 86, of Kingsport, passed away at home, late Wednesday evening following a brief illness. Richard was born in Jenkins Jones, WV and lived for most of his life in Kingsport. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School, class of '56. Richard retired from AFG Greenland after many years of service.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Iva Nell; siblings, Geraldine Ramey, David Chapman; nephew, Chris Chapman; great-niece, Allison Chapman.
Survivors include siblings, Alfred Chapman, Paul Chapman, Randy Chapman, Laverne Rowland, Dennie Chapman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Doyle Robinson (his caregivers); special niece, Tesla Robinson; sister-in-law, Faye Head; several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Mary Howard.
Private family graveside services are scheduled for February 3, 2025, with Chaplin Michael Driver officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smokey Mountain Hospice, 106 Ferrell Ave., #1, Kingsport, TN 37663.
