Richard Light Obituary
June 26, 2025
Richard Light, 71, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Richard was a dedicated Christian and was a member of Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pat Light; two sons, Chad and wife Denni, Kevin; three grandchildren, Macon, Lorelai and Waylyn; brothers, Gary Light, Anthony Light and wife Connie; sisters, Phyllis Hubbard and husband Don, Sandra Fields, Aileen Trivette and husband Kerry, Freda McClure; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the home at any time.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 1:00pm at Depew's Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Charles Roberts officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church, C/O Kathy Clark, 6400 Lone Star Rd., Kingsport, TN 37660.

I was Richard's pastor for several years. I found him to be one of the best Christian men I have ever known. Richard didn't say much but always preferred his actions to speak for him. His family, friends and our church family will always cherish the time we shared with him and his wonderful family. He now rests from his labors and invites all those he came into contact with to join him in heaven where we will join in the worship of our dear loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
