Rita Hickman Obituary

Rita R. Hickman

Rita R. Hickman passed away on Oct. 28, 2023. She was born in Kingsport on March 18, 1938 and lived here all of her life. She was a loving and loved sister and had a strong Christian faith. Later in life she was confined to the home by her failing health. But watching and listening to her choice of preachers on tv and reading her Bible was a comfort to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: C.W. and Rosa Hickman; sisters: Alice Hickman, Nannie Hickman, Leah Couch (Edward), Lois Ryans (Ray) and Evelyn Arnold; brother; Gavin Hickman, niece: Audry Dolan, great-nephew: Jeremy Dolan and nephew: Colonial Couch.

She is survived by her brother: Jerry Hickman (Barbara), sister-in-law: Wanda Hickman (Gavin), brother-in-law: John Arnold (Evelyn) plus many nieces and nephews.

For the family members who wish to gather for the burial, please meet at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Hope at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023.

Rita's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses of Hospice for their compassionate care of Rita.
