Rodney B. Armentrout passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 80 in Kingsport, Tennessee. Born on July 13, 1945, in Webster Springs, West Virginia, Rodney spent his early years in Cairo, WV, where he graduated from Cairo High School.

Rodney honorably served as a medic in the US Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his dedication and compassion in the field. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a Tool and Die Engineer with Delphi Packard Electric, a former division of GM. He dedicated over 30 years to the company, working in both Warren, OH, and Clinton, MS, where he was respected for his expertise and work ethic.

Outside of his professional life, Rodney was an avid coin collector and cherished spending quality time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind nature and quiet sense of humor, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Mary F. (Ball) Armentrout; his children, R. Scott (Sheila) Armentrout and Amy (Robert) Proffitt; his brother, Phillip; and his grandchildren, George and William Armentrout, Garrett and Emily Proffitt. He also leaves behind several special nieces and nephews. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Lonnie and Velva (Hamrick) Armentrout, and his siblings, Larry and David Armentrout, Georgia Rollman, Betty Posey, Lura Rankin, and Beverly Fahrion.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rodney's memory can be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Rodney's life and service will be held in cherished memory by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
