WEBER CITY, VA - Ronnie Leon Meade, 67, went Home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his residence after suffering a massive heart attack on August 24, 2023.
Born in Norton, VA to Dee and Lula Belle Coomer, and raised in Coeburn, VA, he had made his life in Weber City, VA for the past 50 years.
Ronnie was a born again Christian and a member of Darthula Baptist Church, Hiltons, VA.
He was an avid fisherman, holding 2 state records for Paddle fish (largest), one weighing 104 lbs., and the other at 109 lbs. When he wasn't fishing, he was working on cars. He made his living being the best mechanic, all of his life.
Ronnie had a heart as big as the sky. He loved and cared for everyone, and never had an enemy. He loved life and always had a laugh at everything he talked about. Simply, he was a jewel of a man.
Preceded in death, he now joins his precious mother-in-law, Elizabeth, special aunt, Ada, and grandparents, Ern, and Illa Meade.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, and best friend of 42 years, Shelia Meade, his forever Booger, daughter, Jody Meade, son, Branndon Meade, the pride of his life and fishing partner, Isaac Meade, granddaughters, Kiaya Elizabeth and Chloe Elizabet Meade, grandsons, Sebastian Hensley, and Jacob Meade, his dad, Dee Meade, mom, Lula Bell, and Anita (Hippie), brother, Padge Meade, special nephew, Willie (PeeWee) Meade, the women his loved and adored like sisters, Brenda (Dave) Gilbert, Debby (Todd) Harris, Tammy Wood, his cornhole partner, Amanda (Greg) Mark, Sherry Hartsock, Dianna Reyes, and Beverly Gibson, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with his Pastor and friend, Rev. Layton Bentley officiating. Norma Smith Israel and Toke Hensley, and Brenda Bentley will provide the music.
Graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023, in the Meade Cemetery, at his home. Brandon Meade, Isaac Meade, Jacob Meade, Sebastian Hensley, Willie (Padge) Meade, and Willie (PeeWee) Meade will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 12:15 p.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
