JONESBOROUGH - Ruth Ann Hulse Meyer, 80, of Jonesborough, TN passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at her residence.
Ruth was a very sweet and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She raised three amazing children, and she was so very proud of them.
She was a former PTA and Girl Scout leader.
Ruth attended Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and was a former secretary for Broad Street United Methodist Church.
She was also employed for ten years with Eastman Chemical Company.
Ruth particularly enjoyed traveling to their lake house, visiting with friends and former roommates, and collecting ceramic pigs. Ruth loved the book, Gone with the Wind, and she enjoyed outdoor work and activities.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Beulah Hulse; daughter-in-law, Penny Williams Meyer.
Those left to cherish Ruth's memory are her husband, August K. "Gus" Meyer; sons, Kurt W. Meyer (Zarah) and August N. "Gus" Meyer (Courtney); daughter, Karla Suzanne Humbred; grandsons, Austin and Andrew Humbred; brother, James Hulse (Jaree); many nieces, nephews and friends, including Nancy Mallicote and Margaret Dishner.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 pm in the chapel with Pastor Chad Byington officiating.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life. Those attending are asked to meet at the gravesite no later than 10:45 am.
