SURGOINSVILLE - Sallie Lou Mulkey, 81, of Surgoinsville, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 12, 2025. She was born on May 24, 1944, in Surgoinsville, TN, to the late Sallie Byington & Brady Richards.
Sallie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, & friend. She shared nearly 61 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Sherman Lee Mulkey, who stood by her side through every season of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sallie Byington & Brady Richards: brothers Brady Richards Jr & Jim Richards: sister Virginia Skelton: & her beloved great grandchildren Addilyn Grace Mulkey & Bradley James Mulkey.
Sallie is survived by her two sons, Bradley Mulkey & steven Mulkey: seven grandchildren Kirstin Mulkey, Eiron Mulkey, Brianna Davidson, Hannah Mulkey, hope Mulkey, Ryan Bugg, and Bayleigh Mulkey: sisters, Mary Syverson & Carrie McKeehan. She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & loved ones who will forever treasure her memory.
A faithful born-again Christian, Sallie was a dedicated member of Bass Chapel for 33 years. Her faith, kindness, & loving spirit touched everyone she met.
Family & friends are invited to celebrate sallies life on Fri., Oct. 17th, with visitation from 5 - 7 PM. The memorial service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor David Rossetti officiating. Justin Bise will be reading the obituary.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Mon., Oct. 20, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 AM.
Sallie will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
