Sandra Sproles Obituary

Sandra Kay Sproles

June 7, 2025

Sandra Kay Sproles passed away June 7, 2025, with the love of her life, Bob "Bud" Fickle, by her side. Sandy was born and raised in Washington County, VA, a graduate of John Battle High School and Northeast State Community College. She worked as a legal administrator for various law firms and for Eastman Chemical Company. Sandy had a brilliant mind and a loving heart, and in her own words – she loved God, family, her country, and her life. She was a firecracker, but she would go without if it meant making sure others had enough.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Toby Sproles.

Sandra is survived by the love of her life, Bud Fickle; siblings Lois Collins (Mike), Lisa Gilbert (Darrell), Tommy Sproles (Julie), and Scotty Sproles (Diane); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special cousin, Debbie Sproles Owens; special niece, Rachael and Carrie Sproles; sisters-in-law, Diane Fickle (Larry), and Glenda Miller (Chub); brother-in-law, Donnie Fickle (Tiffany); and special friend, Connie Blanton.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park with Pastor Randy McMillon officiating.
