KINGSPORT - Sandra Gail "Sandy" Woods, 71, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport on July 18, 1953, a daughter of the late Elvin "Red" and Shirley Frye Coffey, she has resided in Kingsport her entire life. Sandy was a member of Depew's Chapel Methodist Church and was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School class of 1972.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis C. Woods; children, Brandon (Rebekah) Woods of Kingsport and Matthew Woods of Senoia, GA; grandchildren, Carson Woods and Callie Woods; brother, Mike Coffey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends, Monday, June 16, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Marvin Cameron officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
