CHURCH HILL - Sarah (Buckles) Lane, 95, of Church Hill, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Born and raised in Lebanon, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Bertha Litton Buckles and a 1947 graduate of Lebanon High School. Sarah was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist and dearly loved her church family. She married Robert G. Lane in Berkeley, CA in 1956 and after a few years, they moved back to this area. Sarah was a sweet and kind lady who loved to laugh and tell funny stories of growing up. She was well known for her broccoli casserole and red velvet cakes that she made for special occasions. Sarah was a wonderful wife and mother who selflessly dedicated herself to caring for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Lane; two sons, Myron G. and Mark S. Lane; four sisters, Ora Ann Buckles, Alberta Buckles, Annetta Jones, and Nadine Pearman; three brothers, Henry Carl Buckles, Oakley Buckles, and Hershel Buckles.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Tony L. Lane; sister, Nancy Dotson and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2630 Hwy 75, Blountville, TN. A service will be held at 3:00 pm officiated by Brother Mike Bays. Burial will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
