WEBER CITY, VA - Sharon Wells Ford, 77, of Weber City, Virginia, went to be with her Heavenly Father Monday, October 28, 2024.

She was born June 1, 1947, to the late Dan and Rosa Lee Wells in Marietta, GA. Her family moved to Church Hill, TN, when she was 16. She had been a resident of Weber City, VA, for the last 53 years. She was a member of Weber City Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was an avid reader and served many years on the library staff at the church.

Her first job was as a seamstress at Sobel's, and she continued to sew for people in the community until her health declined. She worked at TEC for 6 years before leaving to raise her family. She was a member of the Scott County Extension Homemakers Association and was awarded Homemaker of the year for two years in a row. She was also a Girl Scout leader for many years when her daughters were young. She returned back to work after raising her children and retired as a receptionist at Building 280 at TEC.

Along with her parents, her sister, Kathy Wells Carter; brother, Danny Wells; father and mother-in-law, Ellis and Lillie Belle Ford; brothers-in-law, Dewey Bishop, HC Ervin, and Deryl Ford; sister-in-law, Phyllis Ford; and nephew, Gennis H. "Hoagie" Ford II preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Wally Ford; daughters, Breena Ford Reed (Brooks), and Annie Ford; son, Wes Ford (Emily); grandchildren, Wade, Ainsley, Caleb, and Calleigh Ford; sister, Debbie Moore (Jerry); sisters-in-law, Jerry Bishop, Bobbie Ervin, Clara Lee Lane (Claude), and Nancy Ford; brother-in-law, Gennis Ford; special friend, Frances Ratliff; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Weber City Baptist Church. Services will be conducted at 7:00p.m., with Rev. Johnny Kenrick officiating. A eulogy will be provided by her son, Wes Ford.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15a.m., to go in procession to the graveside service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Special friends Donald and Ronald Carter will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen organization.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Asheesh Shipstone and staff of Ballad Health Cancer Center and her special caregivers at NOVA Health and Rehab and Ballad Health Hospice for their care for Sharon during her illness.
