KINGSPORT - Shirley Mae (Egan) Kiser, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2024, at her home in Kingsport. Born on December 2, 1940, to the late Scott and Mabel Egan and sister to the late Delmar and Ronnie Egan and Barbara Kilgore. Shirley was the loving wife of Jimmy Ray Kiser for 65 years, and the adoring mother to Mickey Kiser and the late Barry Kiser. Survivors also include daughter-in-law, Melissa Kiser; granddaughter, Sara Kiser; bonus granddaughter, Natalie Adinolfi; four sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the embodiment of a mother and mamaw and made her house a home to all- In doing so, she was the honorary mamaw to several bonus kids and grandkids. Shirley was truly a social butterfly that knew no strangers; a colorful woman with a contagious laugh, that befriended all, and took care of all. The epitome of a true southern cook, she could make a plain bologna sandwich amazing and had an excelled ability for crafts.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Roy Hull officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

She was our guiding light here on earth but will be our northern star now. It was a privilege and honor that she was ours.
