Mrs. Sondra "Kaye" Davis (Munchinski)

June 7, 1943 -

October 18, 2024

ROSE HILL, VA - Mrs. Sondra "Kaye" Davis (Munchinski), age 81, Rose Hill, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 18, 2024, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Mrs. Davis was born in Rose Hill, Virginia on June 7, 1943, to the late D.C. Maness and Lila Stallard Maness. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Davis and her great grandson, Abel Gregory Bryant.

She was a member of Community Christian Church, Rose Hill, VA and dearly loved her church family.

Kaye was a nurse at heart. She began her career at Middlesboro hospital as an ER nurse and then went to the Jonesville Health Department until she retired. After retirement, she went to Belize for a mission trip as an RN to help the sick there and worked as a Lee County School nurse part time. She loved attending events for her children and grandchildren/great-grandchildren and any other events of her extended family. She loved to fish, watch football, watch women's basketball and she even shot a deer once! She loved working in the yard, taking care of her beautiful flowers, and watching deer in the back yard. She played piano in church and was church secretary for years. She taught Sunday School and her faith in the Lord was an example to her children from an early age.

She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Munchinski, Rose Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim & Tim Howard of Harrogate, Tn and Debbie & Greg Warf, of Ewing ,Va. Grandchildren, Julius Rigole (Alexis), Kayla Augustine (Eric), Brandon Rigole (Adrienne), Lauren Bryant(Joe), Lindsey Branham(Michael), and Ashley Markel; great-grandchildren, Elsie, Noah, Emma, Triniti, Lee, Abram, Arabella, Gracelyn, Barron, Emmett, Alara Jean, and Callie , due in November; brothers and sister and their families are Wayne Maness (Malinda), LaCosta (Jeff), Diane Kegley (Jason), Caden, Judd, Sully and Cooper. Layne Walker (BK), BK(Mary), Bryce, Preston, Hailey, Brooklyn and Josiah, Beryl Maness (Jenetta), Brent Maness (Miranda), Zach Maness (Alexis), Emory and Penelope. Kaye was also blessed with a bonus family through Tom; two daughters, Jennifer Findley, Christina Munchinski, granddaughter, Liz Findley and great granddaughter, Mia Rose.

Kaye cherished her family and her extended family and will always be remembered for her kind heart and her beautiful smile.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Community Christian Church with Pastor Don Rogers officiating. The obituary will be read by her grandson-in-law, Rev. Joe Bryant. The music will be under the direction of Jon Ramsey. The family will receive friends at the church from 12, Noon-3:00 PM, Saturday, prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Silver Leaf Baptist Church Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Wayne Maness, Beryl Maness, Greg Warf, Tim Howard, Julius Rigole, Brandon Rigole, and Eric Augustine. The honorary pallbearers will be Walter Howard, Joe Bryant, Michael Branham and Noah Bryant.
