MOORESBURG - Thelma "Sis" Myrtle Short Klepper, age 86, of Mooresburg, TN went to meet the Lord January 7, 2024 peacefully at her home. She was a member of Adriel Missionary Baptist Church where she loved attending. Thelma loved going to the community senior citizens center. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafting and she was an expert quilter. Thelma was born January 21, 1937 to the late Clay and Hannah McGinnis Short. She was one of twelve siblings. Thelma was reunited in death with her husband of 49 years, James Marion Klepper. Thelma got to cross the Golden Gates to see her beloved husband again. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Short Purkey and Brenda Short Carpenter; brothers, Robert, Otis, Roy, Bill, Roger and Lester Short; daughter-in-law, Patricia Klepper.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Trent and husband, Lester of Lawton, OK, Mike Klepper and wife, Tricia and Ron Klepper both of the home; grandchildren, Vicki Trent Rimmer and husband, Rob, Leslie Trent Tharp and husband, Donnie, Richard Trent, all of OK, Kayla Truxillo of the home; 9 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillie Bell Short Leonard and husband, Junior of Mt. Carmel, Gaye Short Green and husband, Jim of Gray; brother, Jack Short of Mooresburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Scott Howerton and Rev. Tim Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Adriel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
