KINGSPORT - Troy "Jack" Dingus, age 88 of Kingsport, entered the glories of Heaven on Friday, October 27, 2023. Jack was born on May 6, 1935, in Scott County, TN to Ira and Lula Dingus. In 1958, Jack married his most cherished friend and love of his life, Lillie Crawford, and after 31 years of a beautiful life together, she preceded him in death in 1989. No longer apart, they are now reunited and receiving their heavenly rewards.
Jack loved his family, and he appreciated the little things in life. Jack enjoyed hunting and raising chickens. He was a devout member of Orebank Freewill Baptist Church and he sung bass with the Faithful Way Quartet.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Lillie Dingus; daughter, Trish Harmon; and 11 brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Darrell Dingus and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Joshua Dingus, Brandon Harmon and wife Amber, and Mandy Green and husband Richard; great grandson, Austin Green; son-in-law, Billy Harmon; and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm with Pastor Jesse Hartgrove and Rev. Charles Wallen officiating.
