Valery Absher Obituary

Valery June Absher, 60, of Kingsport, TN passed away in Knoxville, TN on April 27, 2025. She was born in Boston, MA on November 30, 1964 to the late John J. McGowan and Joyce Lockhart. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter Crystal Gale Absher and stepfather Curtis Lockhart.She is survived by her son Christopher (Katelin) Absher of Kingsport; siblings Cindy Crowe, Pam (Ronnie) Harkleroad, Kim (Kevin) Benson, Matt (Caroline) McGowan, and John (Hana) McGowan; stepmother Diane McGowan; grandchildren Kali Absher, Evan Williams, Brooke Absher, and Miller Absher; and several nieces and nephews.Valery was beautiful inside and out. Her smile so big.... She will forever be missed.

I will absolutely miss you to no end Val. You was my calm in the storm for the past 2 years almost and I just can't believe your gone. I love you so much... Save me a seat at the table for when I get there andwe will catch up and laugh like old times... I love you forever.

I am so sorry to hear of Val's passing. We grew up together in Middleton (the only other person I knew with my name!) - and I just remember laughing with her every time we were together! Lots of time in the McGowan family pool, sleepovers, and exploring the woods between our two neighborhoods. We reconnected on Facebook, a few years back, and I know she struggled after the death of her daughter. I hope her heart is at peace, and they are reunited. My condolences to all of you.

Oh my gosh , I hate to hear this so much. I just thought about her the other day , wondering where she was. We went to high school together and always had so much fun , she had a great smile and laugh. Prayers and condolences to her family , so sorry for your loss. I´ll miss her too.
