KINGSPORT - Vicki Bowen Baker, 72, of Kingsport, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024.
She was born July 1, 1951, in Kingsport, to the late Charles and Betty Sword Bowen.
Vicki was a fun, independent, smart, spirited, loving, and loyal lady to her family and friends.
She had worked at Eastman, Kingsport Times-News, in the criminal court for Judge Calhoun, a case worker for Frontier Health, a local realtor, and best of all, a wonderful homemaker.
Vicki graduated Summa Cum Laude from ETSU and was a member of the National Honor Society.
She was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church.
Vicki enjoyed watching true crime podcasts, Big Brother tv show, crafting, traveling, theatre, reading, chocolate, making the best lemon meringue pies, animals and especially, cats.
She loved politics and debate and was a member of the Democratic party.
In addition to her parents, Vicki was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Anne Bowen Stacy.
Those left to cherish Vicki's memory are her sons, Chad Baker, Jeffrey Baker and wife, Christy; brothers, Tim Bowen and wife, Margaret, David Bowen and wife, Lisa; sisters, Lisa Jeter and husband, Stan, Wendy Davis and husband, Topsy; friend and former spouse, Gary Baker; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2024, 1:00-2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Melissa Malcom officiating.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the medical staff at Holston Valley Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Lung Association or any no-kill animal shelter.
