KINGSPORT - Vicky Jean Ward, a beloved resident of Kingsport, Tennessee, peacefully departed from this world on December 30, 2023, at the age of 78.
Born in Oakdale, California, Vicky led a fulfilling life as a loving mother and dedicated office manager, having retired from HMG. She possessed a deep passion for crafts, particularly crochet, and her heart was forever entwined with her cherished dog, Buddy. She was a graduate of Dominguez High School in Compton, California. She was known for her candid and outspoken nature.
Vicky's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her six adored grandchildren and two precious great-grandchildren, whom she spoiled with love. In an incredible act of love and compassion, she also opened her heart and home to foster two of her grandchildren. She was characterized by her immense kindness, unwavering care, and protectiveness over her loved ones.
While Vicky preferred the comfort of her home, she eagerly welcomed her grandchildren with open arms whenever they visited, eagerly awaiting the simple joys like sharing ice cream.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Royce and Odie Kelley, along with her brothers, Michael Kelley and John McAllister, and half-sister, Wanda Kelley; first husband, Jack Hester; second husband, Cecil Ward.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her daughters, Christy Hester Blair, Sandra Joyce Mullins and husband James; and numerous grandchildren, Emilie Mullins, Jeremy Mullins, Cody Blair and his wife Mattie, Paige Blair, Brooke Blair, Justin Blair, Ashlee Bowen, and Carter Bowen. Her great-grandchildren, Wrenley Mullins and Delilah Blair, will forever remember her warmth and affection.
Additionally, she is survived by several nieces and nephews and her loyal pet companion, Buddy.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time.
