KINGSPORT - Virginia "Pauline" Jones, age 86, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a retiree of Parks Belk in Bristol with 20+ years of service. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church where her and her husband attended faithfully. Pauline loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers, and loving her comfort dog and friend, Mollie Rose.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Gerald Long; grandson, Jarret Wayne Long; parents, James Calvin and Charmie Edith McClain; and brothers, Garland "Garl" Lincoln, William "Dub" Clarence, Alvy "Hack" Haskell, Robert Gene, James "Fred" and Joe Donald McClain.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bob Jones; son, Steven Kirk Long; daughter, Sharon Diane Byrd (William Ray); daughter-in-law, Bobbie Jo Long; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Richmond Dale and Gary Lee McClain; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Dr. Bill Sims officiating. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
