RIPLEY, OH - Wallace Eldridge Bishop, age 81 of Ripley, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky. He was born December 12, 1941 in Hawkins County, Tennessee the son of the late Eldridge and Mamie Lou Skelton Bishop.
Wallace was a 1961 graduate of Church Hill High School in Church Hill, Tennessee. He was a Journeyman Wireman Electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Local 934 in Kingsport, Tennessee for all of his adult career. He lived most of his life in Ripley, Ohio. Wallace was known for his kind and gentle nature. He loved God and was a true man of his faith.
In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma Huston Bishop; stepson – Ron Huston; sister-in-law – Sue Bishop; brothers-in-law – Hal Johnston and Edsel Wolfe.
Those left to cherish his memory are his bonus daughters – Donna Oberschlake (Harold) and Betty Huston Strode; stepson – Terry Huston; sisters – Carolyn Wolfe, Charlotte Johnston and Judy Slagle (Bobby); brother – Wayne Bishop; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Wallace will be missed by all family and friends who knew and loved him in both Tennessee and Ohio.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Linwood Cemetery in Russellville, Ohio with Harold Oberschlake officiating.
