Wanda Bentley May 26, 1949 - August 29, 2024
BRISTOL, TN - Wanda Bentley, 75, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
She was born in Bristol, TN on May 26, 1949. Wanda retired in 2012 after 42 years of service from the medical field where she served as a secretary. She was a member of Darthula Baptist Church in Hiltons, VA where she taught Sunday School and was a faithful member of the choir. Wanda was a kindhearted person and loved her family, co-workers and church family very much. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Sexton Hodge; father, Jerry Sexton and a sister, Shirley Lynn Sexton.
Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, JW Bentley; son, Jay Warren Bentley; granddaughters, Alyssa Bentley and Taylor Hunley; great-grandson, Liam Hunley; sisters, Pat Beach, Phyllis Byrd and Yvonne Dillard; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Darthula Baptist Church, 1741 Lunsford Mill Rd, Hiltons, VA. Services will be held at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary with Rev. Layton Bentley officiating. Music will be provided by the Darthula Baptist Church Choir, Layton Bentley and Dremia Smith.
Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Men of Darthula Baptist Church. Frank Perry will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Flowers will be accepted on Sunday morning at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Wanda's memory to Darthula Baptist Church, 1741 Lunsford Mill Rd, Hiltons, VA 24258.
