Wanda Lawson Obituary

JONESBOROUGH - Wanda Jo Lawson, age 80, of Jonesborough, TN went home to be with her Lord on December 25, 2025. Wanda loved to sing hymns at nursing homes and visit the elderly. Wanda was a long-time member of Robinette's Chapel, where she served as church clerk. Wanda worked in healthcare at Meadowview nursing home and as a caregiver for Olsten Healthcare.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Lawson, as well as her oldest son, Kevin Lawson.
Surviving is her youngest son, Barry Lawson, and wife Heather; daughter-in-law Angie Lawson; granddaughters Janay Lawson and Sarai Lewis; grandson Aaron (Linnea) Lawson; three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emmie, and Oliver Lewis; sister Betty Bishop; brother James (Wanda Gail) Salyers; sister-in-laws Ruby (Don) Salyer and Jenny (Johnny) Salyers.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 11:00 am at Walnut's Chapel Church Cemetery with Rev. Freddy Freeman officiating, and music will be provided by Billy Howard Lawson. Wanda's nephews will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am. To share a memory of Wanda or to send a condolence to the family visit www.cartertrent.com

Wanda was an inspiration to my life , a mentor for sure. She loved the Lord. A servant in all aspects. She will me missed but got to go home. It's not goodbye but see you soon. I loved you sister. Janet Mullins Bolling.
