Wayne Payton Pruett

August 25, 2025

Wayne Payton Pruett went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ August 25, 2025. He was born March 24, 1941 in Anniston, Alabama. Mr. Pruett graduated with his B.S. in Chemistry from Jacksonville State University. He served in the U.S. Army at the Army Air Defense Center Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX. He then went to work for Eastman Kodak in Kingsport, TN for the next 30 years. While at Eastman Mr. Pruett had over 25 patents. After retirement he enjoyed playing golf and working at the habitat Store and on habitat Houses.

Mr. Pruett was preceded in death by his parents Robert P. and Mamie Pruett, son Dr. W. Payton Pruett, daughter Jenny Turner, paternal grandparents Robert P. and Ella Pruett, maternal grandparents Jay and Maggie Wilkinson, brother Bobby Pruett.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Milagros (Millie) Pruett, son Paul Pruett and wife Judy, daughter in law Angela Pruett, son in law Keith Turner, niece Dr. Pamela Pruett, grandchildren Landon Turner and wife Whitney, Katie Turner Coons and husband Fritz, Anthony Padelski and wife Brandi, Taylor Busbee and husband Ian, Madison David and husband Rob, great grandchildren Maddie, Mason and Maddox Padelski, Turner and Kayden Coons, Sophie, Ivy, Scarlett, Josie and Oliver Turner, and Margo David.

There will be a private memorial at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Remember Me Senior Care and Hearth Hospice in Cleveland, TN.

The Companion team is honored to serve the Pruett family with these arrangements.
