William Enick "Bill" Phillips September 24, 1957- July 10, 2024
KINGSPORT - William Enick "Bill" Phillips, 66, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his home. Bill was born on September 24, 1957, to the late Newman and Shirley Case Phillips in Baltimore, Maryland. As an infant he was moved to Kingsport and spent the remainder of his life there. He graduated from Sullivan Central High School and went on to become certified as a diesel mechanic at Northeast State, formerly technical school. Bill was known for his love of all things NASCAR; he was a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt and Martin Truex Jr. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams play; when it came to football, he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. As for baseball, his team was the Dodgers. For any collegiate game, he was always rooting for UT. Bill was an animal lover and cared for many pets throughout his life. He leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, TJ Phillips and sister, Donna Morelock.
Survivors include his nephew, Jared Dingus (Julia); nephew, Tim Lowry; sister, Diana Larkins (Don) and great-nephews, Dustin Frazier and Kolby Dingus.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 6:00-7:00pm in the chapel at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm.
