CHURCH HILL - Wilma Pyle, age 77, of Church Hill, passed away to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 19, 2023. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Wilma was known as a kind and gentle woman with a servant's heart who loved her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart. She loved gathering with family and friends, and she loved the Lord. She lived her faith as was evidenced to all that knew her. To know Wilma was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Anderson; mother, Lucille Blakely (Gordon); and brother, Charles "Andy" Anderson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dickie Pyle; son, Jeff Pyle; daughter, Patti Pyle; granddaughters, Ashley Hammerbacher (Scott) and Brittney Bowlin (Aasin); 5 great-grandchildren, Olivia Lane, Raef Hammerbacher, Caroline Hammerbacher, Aaslin Bowlin and Koa Bowlin; best friend, Sandra Jennings; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill with Pastor Jon Rogers officiating. Friends and family may gather beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport. All those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:50 pm.
