Zada Phillips Richards February 22, 1935- April 18, 2024

FALL BRANCH - Zada P. Richards, 89, of Shed Ridge Lane, Fall Branch, TN, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, to begin her everlasting life with her Lord and Savior. She reunites with her childhood sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Bill G. Richards, who died on August 6, 2003, her parents Claude and Sylvia (Conkin) Phillips, her stepfather B.W. Smith, her grandson Joshua Richards; great-grandson Riley Davis; sisters Jane Pratt, Nova Draper; brother Lowell Phillips; and son-in-law David Williams.

Zada was saved in July 1948 while at Bible Camp in Elizabethton, TN.

She retired from UETHDA in 1998 after 10 years of service.

A faithful member for many years at Double Springs Baptist Church, where Zada served in several capacities. She has been a member of Tri-cities Baptist for over 15 years.

Zada patiently awaits the arrival of her loved ones in heaven: sons Pete and Sandy Richards of Fall Branch, TN, Tom Richards of Fall Branch, TN, Michael Steven and Delphia Richards of Kingsport, TN; daughter Barbara Williams of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren Lori (Mike) Tornquist of McCleary, WA, Michael Steven Richards II of Kingsport, TN; Isaac (Christy) Richards of Tacoma, WA, Kristen Richards of Lacey, WA, Naci (Jessie) Courtney of Kingsport, TN, Melinda (Scott) Crowe of California, and Melissa Oaks of Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren Caleb, Zachary, and Veronica Tornquist of McCleary, WA, Timothy Crowe (U.S. Navy) of North Carolina, Jacob Crowe of San Diego, Nneka Gomez of Knoxville, TN, and Teah Snyder of Johnson City, TN, Charlie and Evie Richards of Tacoma, WA, Tanner and Carter of Lacey, WA; and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind a sister Norma Kern of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Special friends include Joyce and Carl Oaks of Kingsport, TN.

Zada's greatest wish was for her family and friends to join her in Heaven.

The family will receive friends at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Fall Branch on Monday, April 22nd, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A service will follow, officiated by Pastor Mike Laughrun.

Pallbearers will be Sam and Matthew Haren, Bill Whaley, Don Davis, Thomas and Steven Richards.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to in her memory to Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery fund 16340 Kingsport Hwy, Fall Branch, TN, 37656.
