Patricia Jones Obituary

Patty Jones, 87, of Woodway, Texas passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, under the care of hospice at Regent Care Center of Woodway. She was surrounded by her husband Ron and cousin Kay Robertson.

Patty was born in Waco on February 19, 1937. She graduated from high school in 1955 right after the school's name changed from Waco Tech to University High School. On July 21, 1961, in Speedway, West Virginia, she married Ron Jones, the "blue-eyed boy from West Virginia," that she fell in love with when she went to visit her extended family every summer. Ron and Patty lived in the Waco area for 63 years. In 1966, Ron, with the help of Patty's father, built their forever house in a new housing development in Woodway, where they raised their two boys, Darren and David. Patty was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She and Ron were long time members of First Woodway Baptist Church where she loved to worship and sing her favorite hymns. She was the biggest cheerleader for her children and grandchildren in their many activities. She never missed a game or performance that they were involved in.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Jones of Woodway; son Darren Jones and his wife, Heather; son David and his wife, Terri, all of Woodway. She had 5 grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Allison Jones, Rachel Jones, Sam Jones and his wife Ashley, Ryan Jones, and Reagan Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Vernon Williams and Alfred Grady Williams, and her brother, Fred Williams.
