Amon Lindsey April 15, 1934- May 24, 2024
CHURCH HILL - Amon Lindsey, age 90 of Church Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 24, 2024. Amon was born on April 15, 1934, in Hawkins County, TN to Dee Wolfe and Rosa Lindsey. Amon was a dedicated worker for the City of Kingsport for 39 years.
Amon was blessed to have had two loving wives in his life. His first wife, Bessie Gracie Lindsey, went home to be with the Lord in February of 1986, and his second wife, Ethel Lindsey, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2021.
Amon enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was an outgoing man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He will truly be missed.
Amon was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Bessie Gracie Lindsey; his loving wife, Ethel Lindsey; son, David Lindsey; three grandsons; four sisters; five brothers; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Lindsey. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, William Lindsey, and Leo Lindsey and Letha; daughter, Kathy Lindsey; brother, Check Lindsey; daughter-in-law, Pam Lindsey; bonus son, Scotty Tolley; bonus family, Roy and Delores Head; and several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A funeral service will follow with Brother Ken Christian officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at Thacker Family Cemetery. Bob Monroe, Dan Thacker, Scotty Tolley, Phillip Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, and CW Stapleton will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to arrive at the cemetery at 10:50 am.
