KINGSPORT - Betty Willis, 86, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at The American House.

She was born on September 16, 1939, in Lee County, VA to the late B.W. and Dona Osborne Elkins.

Betty was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who made family her main priority.

She was a committed Christian and member of Higher Ground Baptist Church for many years, later attending Grace Point Fellowship, and Sullivan Baptist Church.

Betty retired from Eastman Chemical Company as a Tech Editor following twenty-four years of service.

She enjoyed reading, working in her yard, and spending time with her grandson, Alex Bush.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Ada Fletcher; brother, R.C. Elkins; sisters-in-law, Beverly Elkins, and Margaret Elkins.

Those left to cherish Betty's memory are her daughter, Susan Bush (Randy); grandson, Alex Bush (Natasha); sister, Estell Creech (Jerry); brothers, Omer Elkins, and Don Elkins; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Fireside Room at Oak Hill Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Bledsoe Cemetery, Route 612 Wallens Creek, Jonesville, VA 24263. Dr. Phil Hoskins will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
