KINGSPORT - Joe Blakley, age 83 of Kingsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 28, 2026. Joe was born on May 2, 1942, in Kingsport, TN to Denny and Irene Blakley. Joe was a 1960 graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School and a lifelong resident in Kingsport. On August 21, 1964, Joe married the love of his life, Judy Duncan, and after 61 years of a beautiful life together, she survives.

Joe was a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and he was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church. Joe's serious, but funny and outgoing, personality will truly be missed by all who knew him. Joe was a very generous man, in both his time and financial assets, demonstrated by his support of his church, charities, and missionaries. He was a devoted UT football and basketball fan and a loyal DB Indian football fan. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, and was an expert at crossword puzzles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife, Judy Blakley; daughter, Becky Waterman and husband, Todd; son, Andy Blakley; seven grandchildren, Brett Flora and wife, Rachel, Katie Flora, Logan Taylor and husband, Josh, Anna Cochrane and husband, A.J., Adam Flora and wife, Megan, Taylor Blakley and fiancé, Tyler Cole, and Blake Waterman; four great-grandchildren, Georgia, Adaline, Silas, and Ivy; two sisters, Judy Pomeroy, and Kay Hammitt; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Brother Steve Green and Brother Brian Schuler officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Brett Flora, Adam Flora, Blake Waterman, A.J. Cochrane, Josh Taylor, and Tyler Cole will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am.
