GATE CITY, VA – Andrew Jackson "Jack" France, 67, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Jack was born on September 18, 1955 in Kingsport, TN. He was a member of Clinchport Freewill Baptist Church. Jack graduated from Rye Cove High School in 1973 and after graduation he went through the apprenticeship program at Eastman Chemical Company completing in 1978. He retired from the Eastman in 2014 as a welding inspector after 41 years of service. Jack loved genealogy, horses, and being outdoors. His greatest love was being a caregiver for his mother.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Wallace France; maternal grandparents, Will and Julia Mullins; paternal grandparents, Earl L. and Rebecca France.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Hood France; sons, Jason (Brittany) France and Joshua (Tabitha) France; grandchildren, Emilie and Andrew France, Braydon and Henry France; mother, Betsy Mullins France; sister, Susan (Donnie) Qualls; brothers, Sam (Lissa) France, Roger (Teresa) France and Larry (Teresa) France; several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clinchport Freewill Baptist Church, c/o Brenda Stanley, 4625 Clinch River Hwy, Gate City, VA 24251, in Jack's memory.
