Annie Lee Edwards February 6, 1941 - March 29, 2024 BLOUNTVILLE - Annie Lee Edwards, 83, Blountville, TN, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, at Franklin Woods Hospital of Johnson City, TN.
For almost 38 years, Annie loved working at the International Mission Board (formerly Foreign Mission Board). She served as the full-time Music and Education Minister at Biltmore Baptist Church in Glen Allen, VA. She also served as volunteer Music Minister and Deacon at Hunton Baptist Church in Glen Allen, VA. She grew up in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church in Zuni, VA. Annie said it was the best church anyone could ever have.
Those left to cherish her memory are her twin sister Linda Edwards Bowery; nieces and nephews, Debbie Johnson and husband Mike Johnson; Lisa Danielson; Wendy Bradshaw and husband Chuck Bradshaw; Kenny Davis and wife Kseniya Davis; Pattie Davis; Ruth Tucker and husband Randy Tucker; Amy Adkins and husband Tracy Adkins; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers, and doctors at Franklin Woods Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they gave to Annie during her final days.
It was Annie's special request to put the next statements in her own words: "Thanks and love to my sweet twin sister Linda Bowery; thanks to my special niece Amy Bowery Adkins, who took care of me and met all my needs; thanks to my great and wonderful neighbors Charles and Barbara Wilson; and above all, thanks to my Heavenly Father who loved, gave himself, and died for me."
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 1:00pm - 2:00pm in the chapel at Hamlet-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2630 TN-75 Blountville, TN. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm officiated by Dr. Clay Austin. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Resurrection.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Blountville, P.O. Box 587, Blountville, TN 37617, designated to the Lottie Moon Offering.
